NEW RELEASE

The Runaway Actress - Victoria Connelly (2012)

Stressed out with Hollywood and needing a break, A-list actress Connie Gordon runs to a small village of Lochnabrae in the Scottish Highlands to escape. Not only is Lochnabrae home to her unofficial fan club, but it is also home to Alistair the playwright. Meeting Alistair, Connie realises that she isn't the only one running away. But can Connie run away forever and will she work out what she is really running from? It would be very easy to dismiss this book as a chick lit cliche, the storyline might read a little predictably, but it is a wonderful book. The quirky characters from the village pull you in and you can't help but love Maggie. The weather and the scenery are described so vividly that you actually feel like you're transported to the Highlands. An excellent example of chick lit. (AB)

Victoria Connelly's The Runaway Actress is about an A-list actress who escapes to a tiny Scottish village when things get too much for her. The summary says: "Beautiful, rich, famous - and seriously stressed, actress Connie Gordon is ready for a change. Deciding to accept an invitation from her fan club in Scotland, Connie kisses goodbye to her ex-boyfriends, stalkers and double-crossing agents, and prepares herself for complete relaxation. But swapping the Hollywood Hills for the Highlands of Scotland doesn't make for the easiest of transitions and, when she meets local playwright Alastair McInnes, who's sworn he'll never become involved with another actress again, sparks fly, and the sleepy village of Lochnabrae will never be the same again." The Runaway Actress is out in April.
