Polly moved to New York with dreams of being a photographer. But she hasn’t been able to score any paying jobs yet so she takes a job at a small matchmaking agency. Her lovely boss, Derek, gets her to spy on their biggest rival, by pretending to be a potential client. And this is how Polly meets Olly.
This is a sweet story of a girl trying to make it in the big city and Polly was a likeable and relatable character. But overall, this needed a bit more conflict to spice up the storyline.
Sophia has been on too many disastrous dates and decides to give up on online dating. But her best friend Kate challenges her to try one last dating site and, completely drunk, Sophia writes that her prince charming must be millionaire, travel a lot, and look like Robert Pattinson. So imagine her surprise when a man fitting the description replies to her profile. Daniel is exactly the prince charming she was looking for but the more time she spends with him, the more she thinks that it is all too good to be true.
This is a typical rom-com of a girl looking for her prince charming but with a few twists and originalities that make it an engaging and enjoyable read. A well written, witty and easy-read novel with a funny and likable heroine, a charming villain, an adorable hero, surrounded by a cast of very colourful friends. (NP)
