After a heartbreak three years ago, Nora Bradford threw herself into her
work as the owner of the local historical village. It used to be a museum and now due to rent costs, a
lot of the shops have closed. Nora's sister, Britt, tells her that she
needs some fun and new experiences in her life, which leads her to act as a
hostage in a hostage simulation run by John's security training company.
John decides that he also wants to hire Nora as he is trying
to track down his birth mother. Nora finds she loves spending time with
John - maybe a bit too much since he already has a girlfriend.
I loved this
book as one of my favourite things to read is stories of characters using genealogy to find their birth parents. The other thing that I loved
about this book was the relationship between the three Bradford sisters as even though they
were half-sisters, they loved one another strongly. One part of the story made me go OMG as it could
have been a deal-breaker for John and Nora's relationship but it proved that love can overcome even the biggest of
obstacles. I am now looking forward to reading the books about Nora's sisters.
