Set in South Australia and northern Western Australia, this story focuses on a woman who needs to find herself again after putting others first her whole life. It was easy to become immersed in this family's lives in this warm and engaging read.
High school teacher Keely Mitchell flees her home in Adelaide. She arrives in WA but things don't go to plan. Needing time to recuperate, she finds herself at the home of Levallier Dell Wines and meets father and son winemakers, and more particularly, the son Flynn. But what is Keely running from and why do father and son not get along? This is a really sweet story set in the Margaret River winemaking region. The setting is sublime and is described so well, it makes you want to visit as soon as possible.
The author also makes her knowledge of winemaking obvious and creates a cast of lovely characters including the main characters Keely and Flynn but also their extended families. An enjoyable read with a slow-burn romance and some fine wine tasting thrown in. (LF)
