Julie's life is thrown into turmoil when she finds out Daniel - her husband of seven years - is into gay porn. In her mid-thirties, she is on her own for the first time in ages when she finds herself facing yet another shock. Kate - Julie's best friend and lifeline - is my favourite character. The author manages to convey just how close their friendship is, and how much they depend on each other. During the course of the book, we are taken on a journey as a picture of Kate's unexpected life emerges. As Julie comes to terms with her own new direction, she ends up with more questions than answers. I really enjoyed this book; I found it captivating and couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I found the struggles that Julie went through were wonderfully written and I look forward to reading more from the author ... I hope it's sooner rather than later. (KD)
