But what he doesn't understand is that she's so damaged she can't even hold anyone's hand. Trent seems to have it all together and Kacey doesn't want to take him down with her. What she couldn't possibly know is that Trent is drowning in his own remorse and it's pushed him to do things no one would ever imagine. With a shocking, brilliant and completely unexpected twist, this story will have you on the edge of your seat rooting for Kacey to overcome her demons and get on with her life. While the New Adult genre seems to have a repetitive issue with character creation - all the men are damaged and the women want to rescue them from their demons - this story stands out from the rest. It's heartfelt and easy to see how Kacey got to where she is now. (AS)
