During an influencer trip to Iceland, Alabama goes missing. She had been trying to chummy up to fitness influencer Hollie but had been frozen out.
Alabama’s best friend, Celeste, is also along for the trip but is distracted by worries that her five-year-old daughter is on the autism spectrum.
Both women are feeling guilty about Alabama’s disappearance but it is all even murkier than they could ever have imagined.
The narrative is told from the viewpoints of the three women and also skips around from the time of the trip, to months before and after. This made the format a bit chaotic, the motives and outcomes were a tad unbelievable, and I am still undecided about the twisted ending.
