Sydney news reporter Josie is heading to Newcastle for a six-month stint in the regional bureau. She hopes to impress and increase her chances of scoring a newsreader job back in Sydney when her friend Christina goes on maternity leave. But a panic attack on live TV hasn’t helped her cause.
Newcastle is also now the home of her best friend Zac, who she’s barely spoken to for the past two years after a tragedy. Will being in the same city again help bring them back together or drive them further apart?
Told with flashback chapters, this story focuses on the rekindled connection between Josie and Zac, as well as how Josie’s anxiety around health matters affects her job. As a result, the story is thankfully more multi-layered than many of the other rom-coms out there.
