Artist Holly Hunter leaves her unfaithful husband and moves from London to the countryside to be closer to her best friend, Emma. Deciding to start over, she opens an art gallery, gives art classes, and makes new friends. But for now Holly is not interested in men even if it is not easy ignoring her feelings for handsome vet Adam.
I liked the atmospheric setting of the English countryside and how Holly was able to completely leave behind her life in London and start a new life in a place where she barely knew anybody. But the story moves too quickly and the characters are not developed enough so that I couldn’t get a real feeling about them. It is more a novel about friendship than love, although it has a few romantic scenes. A quick and relaxing read to enjoy during the holidays. (NP)
