Claudia’s hoping to reignite her relationship with Seth starting with a date night. But it doesn’t exactly go according to plan when they argue and Claudia finds Seth kissing another woman. With Christmas just around the corner, it looks set to be a far from festive period but then Claudia finds herself going on a series of unexpected and impromptu dates. From coffee in Holborn to the top of the Shard, Claudia’s Christmas is about to get back its sparkle.
Hands down this is one of my favourite chick lit Christmas reads. It’s magical, funny and warm and everything you want from a festive offering. The twelve dates idea is perfect chick lit fodder and Dickenson’s tour of Christmastime London shines a magical light on the city and will have you wanting your own Christmas getaway. Claudia is a quintessential chick lit heroine who is so easy to like and relate to and Dickenson’s down-to-earth, witty style is a pleasure to read. On the evidence of this one, she could very well be the future of chick lit. But for now she’s certainly the queen of Christmas. (JC)
