Legally Wed, the debut novel by Ciara O'Neill, is about an eligible American bachelor who needs to wed to stay in England. The summary says: "Work colleagues find themselves getting hitched in a whirlwind marriage when American financier Max Dylan's right to work in Britain is due to expire. Despite being the most eligible bachelor on the scene with a little black book full of models and starlets, Max can't risk marrying someone too outlandish or doesn't trust. Fearing that his departure could mean closure of the company and the loss of her job and home, Mia Lombard, his steady and unassuming business partner steps in and offers to marry him so that an important deal can be finalised. Can they convince their friends and families that they've been secretly dating and in love for a while? Will the move from his luxurious harbourside apartment to live in Mia's dilapidated property be more than he can tolerate? Will they ignore the attraction that sparks between them or turn the marriage into something more than separate bedrooms? Will the agony of Mia's unrequited feelings for Max prove too much to endure and can Max cope with his dramatically inclined new in-laws?"
