Romance author Jac’s books have failed so she comes up with a scheme to appear on the top reality TV show, the 1, to boost her social media following and drum up interest in her books. She soon becomes a frontrunner for winning over the bachelor Marcus, while her no-filter attitude wins her plenty of enemies along the way.
Jac also has to keep secret the fact that she hooked up the night before she entered the show – without realising that the guy was a producer on the show.
I have read a lot in the reality TV genre and really enjoyed this one – because at last a character acknowledges that they will probably get the villain edit. The behind-the-scene machinations were also well executed and kept readers right in the midst of the show drama, rather than using it as a side plot. An addictive read.
