Pastry chef Giovanna has had an unrequited crush on her friend Declan for years. But after things don't go well when she fills in as his date for a business event, she decides that she has to take a break from him. Luckily her aloof neighbour, Theo, steps into the breach.
With a sweet slow-burn romance that develops around late-night sessions with cake, the book also delves into rivalry, family ties and friendship. I did find it dragged a bit in the second half though.
