Forty-something Emily has decided to quit as a flight attendant to see if she can make it in the acting world. With no partner and no children, what has she got to lose? Originally published as Learning to Fly in 2015, this tale about overcoming obstacles to chase your dreams was an enjoyable, uplifting read. With myraid interesting scenes involving auditions and acting roles – made all the more authentic due to the character mirroring the author’s own career change - it did, however, feel as if the book lacked a bit of cohesion in terms of the overall plot.
