The Little Wedding Island (2018)

Bonnie Haskett writes for a bridal magazine and believes in romanticism, love, and happy endings although she hasn't still found her Prince Charming. After a Twitter war with a journalist of a rival magazine, she is sent to investigate Edelweiss Island, a small island where people supposedly get married and never divorce. On the boat there she meets and enjoys the company of a gorgeous man, Rohan Carter, who makes her laugh and seems attracted to her as well until she finds out that he is her rival, on the island for the same reason. She doesn't want anything to do with him but soon the two have no choice but join forces as the islanders refuse to co-operate for their article. And as Bonnie and Rohan pretend to get engaged and organise their wedding, they are forced to share the honeymoon suite, to hold hands, and pretend to be in love. But are they really pretending?
I really enjoyed this novel. It is sharp and captivating and the witty exchanges between Bonnie and Rohan made me laugh out loud throughout the entire novel. An hilarious rom-com that I could easily see turned into a movie for its likable characters and the intriguing, although improbable, plot. (NP) 7/10
