Housewife Amy Maxwell gets herself into more trouble in this sequel. After her brush with the law and the underbelly of her local neighbourhood the year before, Amy is no longer content with home life. She enrols in a criminal justice course whilst still balancing school drops-offs, homework and laundry. In usual Amy style she juggles all her balls in the air, until they come tumbling down around her. This time her late arrival to pick up her niece results in the child being kidnapped and held to ransom. When she and her sister Beth attempt to rescue the child, Amy learns of her sister's less-than-perfect life. They bond whilst held hostage with guns to their heads. What eventuates is a madcap journey to rescue Beth, Amy
and her niece. Luckily handsome Jason, DEA, is back to infiltrate Amy's dreams and save the day. This is another funny, entertaining read. (LF)
Amy Maxwell is a housewife, mother of four and married to school
principal, Roger. Daily life is a grind of grunting teenagers, screaming eight-year-olds, and dirty nappies. On top of that she battles her perfect
sister, critical mother and a husband who never helps out. Amy makes a
number of mistakes when the elderly neighbours across the street take in
their son, Jason, and autistic grandson. The 14-year-old autistic boy befriends
her five-year-old plus she's worried the boy's handsome father is dealing
drugs to her daughter. Jumping to wrong conclusions sees Amy embroiled in
murder plots, covert police action and secret hideaways. Amy finds out
the hard way that a fantasy life come real is not more fun than her
mundane existence. A rollicking read that has laugh-out-loud moments. (LF)
