GEORGIE CAPRON

Just the Two of Us (2017)

This debut from Georgie Capron is about love and hope and never giving up. Lucy’s biological clock is ticking and all her friends and family are getting married and having babies – yet here she is standing on her own without a husband or baby.
With a striking cover that draws you in, the blurb doesn’t give much away but in this case that’s a really good thing as it lets you find out piece by piece what is really going on. We start with a prologue that left me wondering what was going on and then it got me thinking throughout what the outcome would be?
It’s hard to review this book without spoiling it for readers. I will say that you will feel warm and cozy at points and then blasted with cold air at other times. I don’t normally cry while reading, but I did well up at a point with this book and had tears roll down my face at another point. I forgot it was a book and got lost in another dimension, of love and hope. The emotion is real and raw and it feels to me like the author went through something similar as the main character. I look forward to what she has to offer us next. (KD) 8/10
