FELICITY EVERETT

The Move (2020)

Karen arrives at the country cottage that her husband, Nick, has set up for them. It all looks picture-perfect, including a studio for her to create her ceramics pieces, and an idyllic setting for their fresh start. But there is unease in the air as Karen tries to settle into her new life, befriend the locals – and forgive her husband.
Nick is the epitome of a smooth-talking, gaslighting husband while Karen is cast as the mentally fragile and insecure wife. The pervading atmosphere of unease continues throughout the book but never escalates into nail-biting tension. 6/10
