Magazine writer Dylan wants to become a columnist. She wins a radio contest for a round-the-world trip. The catch: The DJ will pick a random contact in her phone and she has to agree to them being her travelling companion for the six-week trip.
She gets Jack the Posho, a guy she can’t even remember from a night out at a club but he’s up for the adventure.
Dylan’s boss, Chantal, gets her to write about her travels for the magazine, and urges her to play up on any romance. But Jack isn’t too keen on being written about.
This had a really promising opening but it became too easy to wander away from the book as the story progressed, even with all the exotic international settings. It tackles a few heavier topics around an article she once wrote about her abortion.
