Maddy is a preschool teacher at an exclusive New York school, and she is excited to find that her latest class includes Lola, the child of Hollywood actors Nic and Shelby Seabolt. She’s a bit starstruck to say the least, particularly when an accident gives her the opportunity to infiltrate the family’s life. Meanwhile, her new teaching assistant, James, is trying to keep her feet on the ground. This is a funny, brash read that aims to examine celebrity worship. I am a bit divided about the main character and her motivations though. She actually didn’t come across as particularly celebrity obsessed and her interactions with Nic didn’t really captivate. It instead works better as a story of a woman learning not to make such bad judgment calls.
