Claire enjoys a fortunate life but is willing to give back through Suitability, a clothing service for women in need. The super-efficient Anna gets involved when she loses her lover and job in one fell swoop. And Molly has had a tough life and now as a young mother, she needs their help.
This novel centres around the lives of these three women, and each character had an interesting story to tell. It covers a multitude of topics from poverty and marriage tensions to female friendship and independence. Some of the dialogue was a bit forced but overall an engaging debut. The author modelled her fictional charity on Dress for Success, an organisation she volunteered with.
