Serena realises as she’s about to leave for her wedding to her long-term boyfriend Alistair that she doesn’t want to marry him. Instead she moves to London and starts a new life, writing copy for a jewellery brand, making her own plus-size clothing, and challenging herself to go on a date every week for a year.
This was an entertaining, feel-good read, addressing a number of issues from body image and confidence to sexual harassment. Many will welcome a plus-size protagonist and her larger-than-life colleague but I wasn’t particularly enamoured with the love interest.
