Three women have all had difficult years and are in need of finding some festive cheer. But it may be lacking because Holly’s holiday flight has been cancelled, Cora’s spending the season reluctantly dressed as a reindeer at a department store, and Jessica is reeling from her husband’s affair.
This book is made up of three novellas about characters who have all lost the Christmas spirit. Even though each story is individual, they are all connected and I really enjoyed them all.
I found the characters engaging and their experiences intriguing and interesting and I had a difficult time putting the book down. Thinking back, I’ve tried to pick a favourite of the three, but it’s nearly impossible. I had empathy for each character and their situation and was invested in their situation from the beginning.
Readers looking for a wonderful story to bring out the Christmas cheer and the spirit of the holiday should definitely start here. (SB)
