Sarah May's latest release, The Rise and Fall of the Wonder Girls, centres around a town in the midst of scandal as four schoolgirls fall pregnant at the same time. Grace, Vicky, Ruth and Saskia all go to the same school in the affluent south-eastern town of Burwood. The media descends on the town, demanding answers about the babies' paternity and whether it is all part of a teenage pregnancy cult. At first this seems to corrupt the community until it is revealed that the corruption was there all along, bubbling just beneath the surface. Now it seems the last thing anyone in Burwood wants is life to return to normal.
