Christine Grogan is approaching thirty, has a great job as a meteorologist in an investment bank in Dublin but she hasn't had a boyfriend for what seems like ages and harbours a dark tragedy that makes life difficult. Her best friend, Emily, sets her up with Gavan and things look like they are finally improving. When he disappoints her she starts to see her boss, Mark Harrington, CEO of the bank, in a new light. Mark has recently broken up with his long-time girlfriend and his perfect life is shattering. That is, until he realises what he really wants is Christine. It's a case of not realising what is in front of you but eventually fate intervenes and Christine and Mark finally connect through a chain of work conferences and Christmas and New Year parties. Unfortunately Christine's troubled past makes getting close to her harder than Mark had expected. There is a fantastic twist at the end that you just don't see coming. The story is told from Christine and Mark's point of view and you just have to read it to find out what an Alberta Clipper is! (LF)
